Unsung voices. | Femdelic & Silvia Bianchi

'Donna Ridens' is a collection of tracks composed and sang by Italian women artists from the 50’s until now. Silvia Bianchi created that collection and archive, containing a mix of library tracks, experimental sounds, and uncredited disco songs. Through her investigation, Silvia revealed that many of those female Italian artists who composed or sang tracks were not mentioned by their collaborators.

When Femdelic and Silvia Bianchi recently met, playing at a listening bar in Berlin, the topic came up and gave birth to the idea of bringing Silvia with her 'Donna Ridens' collection into the show. They want to present the stories and songs of twelve female artists and bands, often diminished or miscredited, to depict the 70’s and the 80’s Italian music scene from a feminist perspective and shine a light back on their work.
